Everything about his art class

My Jo can draw quite well, so as his mother, i always be generous to send him to art class although learning art here is quite expensive as compared to Malaysia.

I paid RMB780 (RMB660 art fee and RMB120 material fee) for the Summer art class (12/7 to 16/8), and on 20/8, i paid another RMB1760 (for one semester which is 5 months) so that he can continue learning his art at this famous art center here.

RMB1760 derived from,
1. RMB660 art fee + RMB120 material fee
2. RMB760 craft fee + RM220 material fee

I got him a drawing tube at RMB48 yesterday from YoYi bookstore, so now he can keep his masterpieces nicely into this drawing tube. It can be stretched to any desired length, for Jo, this drawing tube simply looks like a GUN and he loves to play it. Been playing it for a whole night yesterday.

Jo's kindergarten

Few friends of mine asked me why i didn't send Jo to either Q-Dees or Fungates, well, i do not like Q-Dees since very beginning, no special reason, maybe due to the location of the Q-Dees in KK. As for Fungates, Jo had attended the Fungates kindy in year 2007 when we're in KK to wait for the arrival of baby Eli. Actually i didn't see any special improvement in his academic, worst that he still didn't know how to grip the pencil properly after he joined Fungates for about half a year. This time, Chung Hwa Kindergarten Likas was purposely chosen which it is well-known, well-established and also a largest kindergarten in KK, and most importantly it's my ex-kindy too. Well, 26 years back! Over and above, the computer programs that they are learning now are from my ex-company, and i was one of the programmer who written the programs! I simply wanted him to experience what had mommy experienced when mommy still a little girl!

Arios Gundam

My Jo, like his father, has always had an interest in Gundam and Naruto. Actually, we had planned to buy this Arios Gundam for him as a Christmas present, but ended up, i let him unwrapped the box right after the delivery man sent the parcel over. I bought this Arios Gundam from Taobao at RMB130, and another RMB12 more for delivery charge. His contented smile had told us he loves his new toy so much, and he has been transforming it, sudden a hero Gundam and sudden an aeroplane. Kids being kids, i guessed.

Jo's class matter

I was pretty shocked when i saw Jo's homework, this was actually his first time to bring back his English homework, also after i told the teacher to do so.

For the past few months, Jo was with the school bus, that's why he left the school quite earlier than his classmates. Even the days without taking school bus, he still needs to leave his class for art at 4:30pm which his class normal ends at 5pm. During the parent opened day last Wednesday, i saw some of his classmates were passing up their English homework, then only at that moment i knew my Jo has never brought back his English homework. Coincidentally i met her English teacher at the corridor, after greeting i asked her why did Jo never bring back his English homework, her answer really shocked me as she said "oh, because he always leaves the class earlier", hello, this is not his mistake to leave the class earlier, that's your school problem. The school bus schedule was arranged by your school, so did the art class, then now you told me was because he left the class earlier so that you were not able to put his homework in his bag. That's ridiculous.

The reason was unacceptable, i then told the English teacher "ok, then you just make sure you can put his homework into his bag before he is leaving the class". Day after day, only 6 days after i was able to see Jo brought the English homework back. The moment i opened up his bag and saw his BRAND NEW English book, the burning flame was all around my body and i was so frustrating and wanted to scold the teacher immediately. I then walked up and down to look for his teacher, but i could not find her and was told she actually had left the school for training.

Now it is about December, his school has started since September, but Jo has not even written the alphabet A, but Jo was requested to write Alphabet I, so means that Jo has missed the practice skill of writing A to H, which those alphabets his classmates have written. I was really angry, what did the teacher do all this while, did not she know Jo has missed out the homework, did she check every student's homework properly, what and how did she feel if she saw Jo's homework is at BRAND NEW condition, did not she suspect Jo had never done his homework?? OMG, all these sort of questions kept popping out from my mind, and i was not able to cool down my angrier.

The school, supposed to make sure every student has same learning pace, then how could my Jo be neglected and nobody found it? If not i attended the opened day, then when was the truth be revealed? Gosh, how i can trust the school again?

This morning, i went to school again and i really wanted to have a good talk with his English teacher, but again was told that she has gone to training. I then told another Chinese teacher who can at least communicate with Jo's English teacher (which is Filipino) , i said i would like to hear some proper explanation from his English teacher, and i hope the teacher can get back to me asap. Otherwise, i will just make my complaint to the principal.

A sick boy and a tired mommy

This week is National Day holidays in China, so means we have 7 days holidays. But sadly to say, we do not plan for any vacation. The mother (me) has been living like a dead fish everyday, has very poor appetite, hates to see rice, or maybe i can say hate to see everything. Just wish to take McD or KFC everyday, long for drinking coffee and cola too. I had been taking a lot of unhealthy fast foods lately, so did my Jo. And he finally down to fever due to taking too much of heaty foods. He started fever on Sunday morning, paraceptamol and suppository didn't help much, i did sponge him with cold towel, it just helped bringing down the temperature a bit but still considered a very hot fever. And i also did the folks method to him, apply the cold egg white and rubbed gently on his back and front, it actually didn't help much too. Sigh, i told hubby, if his fever still not subside by tonight, i will just bring him to have the drip in the local hospital. Hope he gets well soon, i really cannot take care a sick boy, i was just too exhausted, what's more we need to chop our passports, not later by tomorrow, otherwise we will get fined!

Birth Cert is needed for passport renewal

Our main intention to go back to Sabah in August was because Jo needed to renew his passport. I took him to Immigration on Friday (15/8), but he couldn't renew his passport as the reason was i didn't bring along his birth certificate. Lesson has been learned, i have never known that little kids need to attach their birth certificate while renewing their passport. I had always thought that the birth certificate is necessary only when it's the first time for one to apply passport.

The problem was i didn't bring Jo's birth certificate back to Sabah, the piece of paper was still in China. We got no choice that hubby had to courier the birth certificate back to Sabah by using FedEx which it was charged at RMB300. Hubby was told that it needed 3 days for delivery to my house in Sabah. It was fine with 3 days, simply meant that i could receive it by Tuesday if hubby sent it on Saturday morning (16/8). Due to that time was Olympic Games, the date of receival had been delayed due to it being blocked by the China custom, and it was delayed too while the birth certificate reached to Sabah as the FedEx could not read the address properly which was stated on the envelop. The staff gave me a call, and i had to clarify the address with her again, by the time i received the birth certificate, it was already on Wednesday evening.

The address written was pretty funny, the address simply couldn't make sense to me as all the spellings were wrong. Luckily the postcode and the country were correct, otherwise i might lose the birth certificate. I assumed the China staff who works with FedEx was not able to read or write English, and that's why my address looked funny and totally out of meaning!
On Thursday morning (21/8), we went to immigration again, luckily everything turned out smooth and Jo finally had got his new passport. This round, Jo had taken the 64 pages, just hope the passport pages won't be finished that fast, like his previous passport, all the pages had gone even just at 2 1/2 years. Look at the passport application form, Jo was the one who signed it. Even the staff gave Jo a good smile.

Can sing China National Anthem but not Negaraku

Jo can sing China National Anthem but not our Negaraku, shame on us as we never teach him. Last Friday, we sang the China National Anthem while the anthem was playing during the Olympic opening ceremony, we know how to sing it as we have been listening this anthem for 3 years. What's more Jo is attending the school here, then undoubtedly he knows the anthem well. But Malaysia is our home country, we still need to instil more Malaysia culture to this little boy and we do not want him to forget his home country. I think i better buy him the Negaraku song and even flags while this round back to Sabah..

Gundam Dynames

At first i thought he would like the Bumblebee, but yesterday he told me he prefers to have Gundam Dynames as his Children's day gift. Actually i do not want to spend so much in toy since he has quite a lot of toys that put aside and never get a touched. Buying more toys for him will just let him doesn't know how to appreciate his toys. Gundam sells about RMB200+ in Coastal City, slightly expensive than Toy's R us, however, i will not buy it from either Coastal City or Toy's R us as i will buy from TaoBao.com, which the site just like ebay but do not have to bid the item. I had checked the Gundam Dynames in TaoBao.com, oh boy, it is just so cheap, of course i am comparing the model and the price which i saw in Coastal City and Toy's R us.

BUMBLEBEE for Children's Day gift

Would like to buy this Bumblebee for Jo as a Children's Day gift, but just got no heart to spend the money on just a toy. He in fact has already owned a lot of toys till he himself just doesn't know how to keep and appreciate them.

Children's Day will be on June 1st, i do not know whether it is an international children's day since i never concern this celebration since i was young. I got reminded by Jo's teacher that day that his school will have an exhibition and open day on June 1st. I guess his teacher would just think i am a lousy mother. :)

More shirts for Jo

Other than shopping to Oshkosh B'Gosh and Mothercare outlet, i like to shop to Bossini too as their clothes are cheap yet with good quality. I bought few pieces of t-shirts from Bossini for Jo recently, as the Summer is here, he needs to bring 2 sets of extra t-shirts to school. He has almost outgrown his t-shirts, that's why recently have to shop around the town to buy more shirts for him. He is actually had enough shirts now after buying him diligently lately, i can start saving the money and will spend it again during Summer sales. Oh, just can't wait to shop crazily in Oshkosh B'Gosh outlet.

Toy Addiction @ Gundam

Sometimes i found that it is quite hard to please Jo, yesterday he loved Ultraman, today he loves SPD (Power Ranger), tomorrow he will love other toys. His toy addiction just changed so fast.

This morning, he reminded me to buy him the blue Gundam. To be honest, i really don't know how is the Gundam looks like, what i know is, Gundam is not cheap at all. I told him i will buy him if i go HK, but he insisted that i can buy it from Jusco in Coastal City. Hehe...i know, i have been talking a lot of Coastal City lately, haha..i just love Coastal City so much.
Since this morning i didn't go to Coastal City, i did buy him a little Gundam, which comes with sweet. I guess he will still love it. Sweet has never failed to bring smile on kids' face. :-)

Jo's new hair style

Handsome or not? Haha..i know i was quite thick face to say this. But so what, Jo is always looked handsome in mummy's eyes.

Took him to trim his hair yesterday, i was initially suspected his red eyes was due to the stimulation of his long fringe, that's why i quick quick took him to cut his hair. Some more, i also prefer him to cut his hair in KK more than in China, as in Shen Zhen, that's just nobody could understand "what is mushroom head".

Jo has eyes infection

This morning Jo woke up with a terrible red eyes, so brought him to see the eyes specialist in KK Specialist Center, the doctor was quite terrible as he dared not to touch Jo's eyes and asked Jo do on his behalf. What a lousy doctor even charged me RM100 for less than 5 mins consultation. He didn't check properly and just told me "he has infection", then i asked him "what caused the infection?", he then answered me "anything, dust, dirty, bacteria"....so, do you think worth to pay him RM100??

My pride ~ Jo

Tonight was a graduation and concert night of Jo's school. My son has grown up so much and tonight he was my pride to stand on the stage and performed his guitar dance. Though he was not a good dancer at all, at least i knew he was enjoyed the night that filled with joyous. He had even made audiences burst out laughing over his antics.

After the performance, he didn't join the crowd went down the stage, as he walked in front of his principal and informed that's a little girl peeing on the stage! See, my son was so 3-8 type and even could noticed what had the little girl done. All of a suddenly, i felt very guilty as i seldom spend quality time with Jo ever since i started joining the bandwagon of "paid for blogging". I really felt extremely bad because i have been missed out a lot of greatest moments with my lovely Jo! Maybe i should slow down or just stop posting...

My little Jo

Jo is getting better now, this week i won't send him to school as his immune system still very weak after taking the medicines especially the antibiotic. Tonight his appetite was very well, at least he was able to finish 2 bowls of rice, a bread and 8oz of milk. Hope he can gain back his weight asap because he looks so skinny and tiredness now.

Jo be a sick boy again

Jo has fever since yesterday. It just a mild fever at first, so i still sent him to school. He didn't show any abnormal during noon time so i also forgot that he had mild fever at the morning. His fever went peak at night, but he was still refused to take the fever medicine.

The fever subsided this morning, so we just let him to follow us to immigration. Jo didn't show his naughty face which was not quite usual him, and i checked his temperature right after we were back. His fever shoot to 39.6 degree, so i gave suppository to him. Fever still wandered around 38.7 degree to 39 degree even the suppository was given him.

Hubby brought him to Dr.Pang just now, he has the throat infection that made him fever and cough. He has runny nose too, but i am just not sure the runny nose is due to flu or due to sensitive nose. My poor little boy, today he really looked sick. :(

Hubby is finally here

Ya, hubby is finally here. Jo was so happy when he met his papa at the airport, but he threw me a big fuss before we headed to airport as he cried non-stop without a single reason. He started to cry when he woke up from his afternoon nap, in fact, he started to cry when i picked him from school. Just don't know why he acted so manja, maybe he wanted be the center of attraction again. Tonight he didn't take any rice, jellies from Wagamama (Japanese Restaurant) was his dinner.

Mooncake festival coming soon

Tonight supposed to bring Jo to Foh Sang as there has Moon Cake Festival celebration over there. It's raining outside, so we can't go, i can see a disappointed face from Jo, but what to do? Time flies, i still clearly remember how we celebrated our Moon Cake Festival in Shen Zhen, that day, we walked down the street but just couldn't find the candles for lighting up Jo's lantern. This year, i am planning to play lantern with him and i guess he will be very happy since he has his peers to play with him too. All the while he was so lonely, but situation is totally different this year, other than having his little brother, he has cousins as well!
