New Camera but Bad Experienced!

This is my new camera, Canon IXUS 850IS. Bought it on 24 December 06 at Broadway, HK. We started our snapping at the Snoopy Park right after we bought it, it was about 150 pieces photos saved in the memory card, and i don't know why i could be so stupid to wrong PLAY with the format button, and the photos from Christmas Eve, Christmas Day till today Boxing Day are all gone! I miss my Jo's sweety smiles that had being captured..Today just a BAD DAY for me..i feel like i wanna to bang myself to wall...

ohh... pls don't get upset though it's hard not to.

you can always take his pics again and this time, definitely you won't be playing with the format button again :)

Merry Christmas!!

my camera lense defaulted and i sent it for repair a few days ago. today i went to collect the lense and the guy next to my counter -so happen- has accidentally re-formatted his camera and all his wedding photos are GONE!!.

he was asking whether they can recover the photos but unfortunately, they can only recover photos if its accidentally deleted but not formatted.

what a co-incidence. oh - it's canon too. prob Canon needs to look into their 'format feature'- at least make it hard for people to accidentally re-format!!

anyway, i know how you feel. all those precious moments captured are irreplaceable .....but dun worry about the photos...you can still jot down sweet memory for remembrance.

I know how you feel but I didn't wanna go bang my head on the wall. Instead, I wanted to cekik my hubby for losing all the pics & video captures when he tinkled with the laptop.

I know how it feels. I sent my phone for repair and the stupid fella pandai pandai went and reformated my phone. I was like @#$^& so freaking pissed. But don't worry. You'll get over it. Jo's sweet smile is eternal, can always snap again (this time double the quantity). Cheer up.

You can take the memory stick to retrieve those data, if you can get a good computer geek. I am sure HK have plenty of that.

Formating doesn't remove data technically, it just reconfigure or tell the camera to start at this memory slot. It doesn't even destroy any data.

There are software to do it depending on what memory stick you have.

STOP!!!! Don'tdo anything to the memory stick, dash down to SONY center in Habourfront tower, they can recover the pictures as long as you have not taken too many photos that overwrite it.

Yes, even after you format, they pictures are actually still there. Those that cannot be recovered may still have a tumbnail image when downloaded.

The staff there are very nice & friendly. Don't talk to the counter tech staff, go to SONY homepage, find the contact and call the Head of customer services.

The counter staff are a lazy bunch.
