School hunting

Recently i'm scouting around the town to hunter a good school for Jo as the new school term will be started on first of September and Jo is on his right age to attend the school. It's very crucial and a lot of criterias that have to take it as considerations.

Firstly, we need to find a school which cultivates both Chinese and English, at least Jo is able to catch up bilingual languages when the time to be settled down in Malaysia. Anyway, it is not easy to find a reputed native school here unless we send Jo to International School. But is it worth to send Jo to International School at age of 2 and half? Apparently not money worth for just having fun in school at such a young age. Somemore, we have to move to another town area too provided we really opt to International School.

Secondly, transportation is another issue for us. Since we don't have our own transport and have to rely on public transportation, i'm more likely to choose a school which nearby my house. I hate to take public transportation especially the bus here as the bus driver is putting passenger 's life in guillotine. Apart from driving imprudently, i hate the sweaty smell from others and hate to squeeze like sardine in bus. Though most of the school provides school bus, but i still prefer not to let Jo joins the school bus since he isn't mellow on sitting quietly in bus.

Due to above 2 reasons finally i opt one private school that near to my house, it merely needs 10 minutes walking distance to there. Some aunties told me that private school is not good especially the food provided, but some aunties just told me the opposite, so i think better myself to dig out the real face of the school later. Hopefully it's still seat available.

Currently i'm trying to wean off his diaper at nap and night time, so far it runs very smooth at afternoon nap and he doesn't wet his bed. I would praise him everytime he wakes up with dry bed from his afternoon nap and he seems like very enjoying the praises. He keeps telling me "Jojo 不要shee-shee在床上,要shee-shee在but-but (potty in hakka). (Jojo doesn't want to pee on bed, but pee into potty) It takes time to wean off successfully, but i do hope he can wean of as soon as possible. It was terrible at the first 2 nights, i kept waking him and coaxing him to pee, but he yelled "Jojo 要ooi-ooi" (Jojo wanted to sleep) and cried for wanting an uninterrupted sleep. Likewise, i was suffered to be a panda bear too as i woke up every 2 hours to hold the potty for Jo. Though he cried but i still insisted not to wear him a diaper. So surprisingly he didn't wet the bed even he didn't want to pee into the potty at the late night. I was getting slacked after trying for 2 nights, and of course he is wearing diaper at night now. But all of a sudden, he didn't wet the diaper and would call me up when he wants to pee at night. I hope he can keep on his achievement and totally wean off the diaper. Though i still have 2 jumbo packs of Mamypoko which brought from M'sia, hehehe...maybe can keep for my second baby, just hope it won't getting yellowish inside.

Apart from weaning off the diaper, i wish to wean off his bottle too. He can drink anything from cup but absolutely not his milk. I tried to make milk in cup and been telling him our downstair's aunty took all his bottles for her newborn baby, it seemed unsuccessful for telling crap to him as he cried loudly at the balcony and wanted the aunty brings back his bottles.

He drunk his milk reluctantly from cup but he vomitted everything (rice before and milk) out just less than 1 minute after his milk. I finally took out his bottle after the situation could not be prevailed, of course he gave me his sweet smile by seeing his bottle.

We can save more provided i can wean off his diaper and bottle successfully. Not even save money for not buying diaper and bottle cleanser, i even save my effort for not cleaning and sterilizing his bottles. I do hope he can outgrow them before i plan for second baby, at least i can put my concentration on my new baby.

If everyone has idea on how to wean off diaper and bottle please do share for me.

My son was 4 when he was fully off diapers so Jo is progressing very well to me. Accidents like bed wetting still happens despite the fact that Ryan is almost 6 :(

Wien also on diaperless stage now, MIL will wake her up @2am or6am to pee. But occasionally still pee if MIL forgot to wake her up!:P

From experience i can say is kids pee twice in a night! some only one time.

While for drink from cup, we give her fancy fancy straw, she love it! So we prepare big bag of straw at home as she dislike drink directly from cup.

Damien is turning 4 in another two months' time, but he is still not totally off diaper at night. On certain nights he simply refuse to put on his diaper and he can stay dry throughout, but there are times when he insisted on putting on his diaper...so i just let him be lor..hehe ;p

Qianyi started using her potty to pee on her own 3 weeks ago. She's diaperless during naptime. She would wake up if she needs to pee. I let her wear diaper at night but it's always dry. The first thing I do when she wakes up in the morning is to sit her on the toilet..she would pee a lot...:p

Jazzmint - Emm..will think of your idea. Yalo, he was very funny for wanting his bottles back.

1+2mom - Since i want to save money so think better to train Jo now. Hehehe..

mom2ashley - Maybe i'm too particular and too fussy in choosing.

immomsdaughter - Bed wetting in once in a blue moon should be ok, if everyday then better back to diaper night.

Jesslyn - I tried to wake Jo up every 2 hours, but he refused to pee and cried, i was so helpless to keep on waking him. I will try to buy fancy straw for him and will try chanel's method too.

BlurBlur - Damien seems like wanted to be a baby occasionally and be a big boy at other time.

ChanelWong - I like the way you applied to Jeriel. Ya, how concindence was it!

Kelly - Jo is diaperless at afternoon nap now. He still with diaper at night but occasionally he would wet his diaper if he forgot to call me up. But sometimes just dry after waking up.

Zara's Mama - Since Zara is smart girl so i think it's very fast to wean her diaper off. You can let her see other jiejie pee on potty, sure she can pick up the skill by imitating. Last time i used this method for Jo and it's very useful on diaperless at daytime. Have a good try.

What you doing to wean off diaper is right, just keep doing it. I did it to my 3 years old daughter, she haven't wet her bed for a year.

Bu I don't reckon to wean off the bottle so early, or else he'll stop milk instead. He needs the supplement still.
