The moment we're together...

I like the feel of being touched, i guess so does my baby, but we (hubby and me) seldom do it. Occasionally i would put my hand on my belly if the baby makes me feel uncomfortable with his "unceasing" kicking. But it's less bonding between hubby and the baby, perhaps the enthusiastic of having new is over. We went for the checkup together on my previous pregnancy, but this round, i have to go alone or sometimes with Jo only. Hubby doesn't have much understanding of each scan i go, basically gets the information through phone only. Altogether he just followed me twice to clinic, first on my first checkup on 25.11.06 and the 3D scan on 26.2.07. He didn't have any expression while doctor showing us the clear baby face, his excuse was "i'm thinking about my coming board meeting." That's happened on "our" last scanned before he flown back to China and he wasn't a boon companion as my expectation.

However, Jo is the exceptional as he would take his initiative to "sayang" his brother everyday. He doesn't show any jealousy so far, somemore he is very thoughtful to talk with his brother. He even said "i don't want to buy toys anymore, money give didi buy nen-nen" the other day. But he had forgotten his promise when we passing by the toys shop as he wanted to buy toy again.

Recently Jo told me he wants "more-more" didi and meimei, he then continued to allocate each "didi for mummy, meimei for papa, baby for Jojo", i told him baby will be his didi soon, but he refused it and keeps saying "didi for mummy, meimei for papa, baby for Jojo", so, what does it mean?

I started to feel "something" about my baby yesterday, i guess might be his fist or toes. Hubby said he couldn't feel it though he put his palm on my belly, but he could feel the baby movement and kicking. We wondering what he did inside? Stretching? Yawning? Swimming? Drinking? Suddenly, Jo put his Ultraman's aeroplane and Hello Kitty's camera on the top of my belly, wow..that's amazing to see the aeroplane moving left and right. The baby certainly seemed like having fun with the toys offered by Jo.

The another big headache is during my delivery, i can't ensure whether hubby will be by my side or not? For me, i'm ok with his absence but i don't want him be absent as it's really unfair for the baby. As you miss the moment you will miss it forever, the process won't be returned and be reviewed again. So, should i opt for "induce" and fix the date? Be frankly, i prefer it happens naturally. But who can confirm the date? Unless hubby takes leave earlier, but no point to have empty wait there since nobody knows the exact date coming. Phooey....

p/s: Oh oooohh....another 100 days to go!!

Men are like that. I went through most (except 2) of my prenatal checkup for WH alone. My man shown less interest in my 2nd pregnancy compares to the first time. But this time round he's getting better again. :)

Joshua is certainly showing his big brotherly love! Good for you, coz you now hv someone to help look after "didi" next time!

I hope my husband won't ignore my 2nd pregnancy next time should I get pregnant again.

You know, I had cesarean surgery, and the recovery from pain took me about 4-5 weeks. I was on prescription painkillers the whole time until that 4-5th week. So having a cesarean is also not that bad, I think. But suppose if you want to have a 3rd baby, chances are that 3rd baby may also need to be delivered via cesarean (higher possibility). Good luck!

eh same here la..so far for my 2nd pregnancy..my hubby only accompanied me TWICE! that's because my appt is always on a monday morning..and hub's reckon that i didn't give him ample warning! *tsk

For my pregnancies, I always set the checkup day on Mondays, as hubs is not working on Mondays. But even so, he never offers to accompany me to the checkups, only once or twice I insisted that he went. I also got used to it already *sigh*.

I guess I must appreciate my hubby as he comes along for 80% of my check up even for the 2nd one. But he was not in the labour room when I had my 2nd one. And you know why? Because he almost fainted when he saw blood oozing out when they administer the epidural on me. Muar ha ha

i think go for induced labour, easier la..don't waste time!

Well, most hubby only "interested" with the first baby huh? Mine too...

Can your hubby take longer leave? If he can, he can be back and wait with you for bb's arrival.

I 'induced' for the same reason too.

As my PB always travels alot so we have no choice also as I was staying in KL then and he was in Penang. He will come by every forthnight to visit me and go to the gynae together if he's not travelling...

things improved after we went for the pre-natal class actually as he learned about the type of support we moms-to-be need!

It took me so long to get into the comment box! *pengz*

It's a blessing to have Jo by your side, huh? At least he is more excited to see his didi's development. :)

It's important to have our hubby along during labor to support us.

You can start to select a date after week 37 to induce.

Ern was borned on the 1st day of week 37. She just can't wait, I guess.

I think that it is more difficult for fathers to connect to baby compared to mothers. Afterall, we feel the baby everyday but they don't. So i think we should make every attempt to include them, even if they don't seem interested.

I also advocate natural birth seems like induce may be an option if you want to make sure daddy is around.

But who knows, maybe your baby will decide to come out naturally on a day when daddy's around, without induce. ;)
