What a "manic" Easter Day

We supposed to have our Easter Holiday in HK and go to church on the Easter Day. But we've had to shelve the plan as we couldn't find a "cheap" hotel during this 5 days holiday in HK. Jo looked quite ok at the morning, he woke up around 9ish and we went out for brunch after his favourite "SPD" show.

After brunch, we took a long walk to other places that we aren't so familiar with, we walked and hunted all over the place to discover more about our area. Jo started his crankiness about that time after he saw his favourite Abare's (AKA Power Ranger) toy hanging on the rack. He yelled as trying to prevail his situation that he wanted to buy, but i was staying firm too as i don't want this habit always happens that we have "toy" to bring back home after each out. Somemore, he has too many toys at home..i rarely see him playing them and i found out he just has habit to buy new toy everytime we're out.

He stopped his crankiness after few coaxing by hubby (hubby always does great job to coax Jo, perhaps he does have much patience with his son) but he started his crankiness again once we reached home. We did bring him to park before headed home, he was enjoying himself there and it has been quite a while we didn't bring him out to park. We fulfilled whatever he asked, even he had his boat rowing though i hate it very much. I felt sick while the boat was stopping at the middle of the lake.

Upon our arrival at home, my rest of the day was filled with his hysterical sobbing, even my hubby couldn't stand his cried, so don't say me. He keeps saying he wants the Abare toy till now. I hope he can forget it but seems like he has very good memory now, he could talk in great detail on what had happened on Easter day without missing a single part. The most funniest part he said is "i shee-shee to the lake while i was rowing the boat". He looked so proud when he said this...why? Is it bacause his urine like "fountain"? Pardon me to let him peeing there, no choice as we're at the middle of the lake...

Yeah, I also try not to give in to Ivan's whims ALL the time so that it doesn't become a habit.

Wow... 5 days of holiday. Lucky you! The peeing part is so funny... I'd do that too - no choice mah, right??

What if you suggest Jo to help you do some light household chores for say, a couple of weeks or one month, and tell him that if he is a good boy (if he behaves) and does all the chores completely, you will pay him, and that he needs to save all this money to buy the toy himself? This teaches him about responsibility, money management and the fact that we all need to work to get money and eventually buy the things that we want.

I think Jo really really likes an Abare toy... well, as suggested by Binky, maybe can start teaching him how to 'earn' it instead of just buying it for him?

wahwahwah! u also PPP??????

So nice to have such a long weekend.. at least more family time together before you and Jo go back to Sabah.

One thing my mom taught me is never ever let the habit of buying toys all the time or the kids will be very demanding.

My daughter has the habit of asking if I bought anything for her whenever I come home.

hey u started writing sponsored post!!! good good, welcome to PPP :D

i always very weak when it comes to buying toys for my girls. they just need to say "Please mommy, I promise I keep my toys after playing." i'll buy for them eventhough i know they won't. the word "please" makes me weak. hehe

Boys are much easier than girls when comes to shee-shee in the public. I can't imagine how I will let Belle shee-shee if we're in the middle of the lake.
