33th week updates

Went for my 33th week check up on last Saturday. Hubby missed the chance to see the little baby again, by the time we reached to Shatin it was about 3pm, hubby went straight to Mongkok to buy his soccer shoes. It was raining that time but he said he could reach the clinic on time for my appointment at 4:20pm. But, by the time he reached to the clinic it was already 5pm and just 5 minutes after my scanning. So, next time he has chance to see the baby again maybe is the time i am in labour room. :)

weight - 73.6kg (only gained 0.4kg for the pass 2 weeks)
blood pressure - 115/64
baby's weight - 2kg

Doctor asked me "you didn't take your meal properly?" after he found out i just gained 0.4kg for the pass 2 weeks, no, i have huge appetite but i take a lot of junk food at the same time. Like the "Japanese Yaki Squid", icecream, peanut, chocolate and coke. Maybe all have been absorbed by baby, that's why he has increased his weight from 1.585kg to 2kg. :)

This round of checkup really pissed me off, logically i know that the doctor was right not to write me the letter with the date 27.5.07 (my flight date), but my SIL experienced before with AirAsia as AirAsia insisted the letter needed to mention the pregnant lady is fit for travelling on the exact flying date. In fact, AirAsia also crazy, it's impossible to state the exact flying date in the letter, just imagine if the flight is in the morning, then how does the lady can go for checking and taking flight at the same time. I am headache now, what am i going to do if they are not allowed me to board the flight?

The doctor really distracted me and made me forgotten to ask about the braxton hick and the bleeding. My brain was crammed with those how and what questions, just so worrying i can't board the flight on time. I told hubby when i saw him, he was totally suprised me in his sentence "don't worry, if you can't go back, just deliver in Hong Kong". But....i don't want la, how to deliver in Hong Kong, what to do with the passport and birth certificate, no, we don't have any information about how those procedures are running, then how can be settled like this?

i want to ask something, how do they weigh the baby's weight?

Can u go to a general practitioner on the day u board to get a letter just to show it to AirAsia that u r fit to travel ? will they accept that?

min - have some formula can calculate out the baby's weight, actually i also don't know how, just see the doctor pressed here and there, then the measurement just out.

Ya, i can go to consult doctor again in Macau, but troublesome for me as by the time i reach Macau i think no more clinic open liao..

It's very understandable, under all the stress, you were bound to forget something. I can imagine myself doing the same thing!

Let's just hope everything goes okay for you and baby..

ps: Your hubby went to buy soccer shoes so he can take revenge on Chelsea? *grin*

ohh .. cos i was thinking.. how they weigh your tummy !! haha... how silly can i be!! thanks for telling me !!

but i think it'll be safer to try to get a letter on the day itself! or maybe early in the morning before u leave China u can visit a doctor!! hopefully everything will turn out to be fine!! :) take care! continue eating more!!!!

When I had to travel last month, the doctor wrote that I am currently in xx weeks, and will be travelling from "what date to what date". When I showed the letter to Air Asia the ground crew were not very experienced with pregnancy matters, so they just look at the doctor's letter which stated that I was xx weeks, and wrote in the form according to that. In fact, I was more that xx weeks, coz the Doc wrote that letter, like 2 weeks before.

Anyway, I think if the doctor state what weeks you are in during that date when you are going to travel, it should be okay.

And re. the baby's weight, I think the doctor scan the baby's head, stomach size, body length, and leg's length and from there, the formula calculates the baby's weight.

hi, i'm your silent reader for quite some time already :)visited your blog everyday!

i'm also a m'sian currently residing in mainland china. i've been told that for foreigner delivering baby in mainland, the hospital will issue the baby a foreigner birth cert. then with this birth cert, you can register your baby at the nearest m'sian consulate where they will issue your baby a temp. m'sian birth cert or passport. you can get more info once you are at the consulate if you plan to give birth in china.

wish you a safe journey back home and smooth delivery!

Can you go bk to the doc and ask for another letter then?

My cousin delivered in Italy and it takes months to process the documents as they are very slow. And they are still processing it! She's hoping to come back on Sep and it's not ready.

Perhaps you should check how long does it take what do you need just in case you can't get on the flt.

wah! You flying AirAsia in your state of pregnancy? Should have got a more comfortable airline.

hi, Cathay Pacific accept up to 36 weeks. If Air Asia doesn't allow you to go on board, try Cathay Pacific. Other wise, you will have to deliver in HK, good service but very very expensive. As for the birth cert and passport, not too worry, go to Malaysia Consulate in Wancai, HK or the one in Guang Chow. Not that difficult. ( I am a Malaysian in HK)

Yeah.. I agree with Mott.

Did you check with Air Asia already? Worse case, buy full fare ticket on regular airlines to come back loh.

WMD: Wife, Mother, Daughter said...

wow so fast.

Regarding the letter, best get the doctor to that he knows you will be travelling on 27 may and you will be xx weeks then. The date of the letter is not that relevant. Air Asia is pretty strict on seeing a letter and you will be asked to sign a form of idemnity (you are responsible should anything occurs).

Worse come to worse, fly Cathay lor.

Doesn't your hubby's company pay for medical? If that is the case, the HK medical cost shouldn't be a problem... It's only that delivering at home has the PROS of family and confinement lady etc etc...
