Beware when you wear your Crocs

Do you like Crocs? Personally, i like it very much especially i like those sharp colors which are very suitable for kids. I did buy a pair for Jo as i heard one of the mummy said kids won't be so easy to fall down when they wearing this Crocs. Somemore it's easy to wash.

But, have to beware now after reading the newspaper, as recently there're few children had the accident with wearing Crocs when they using the escalator. The Crocs just clamped inside the narrow lane of the escalator. Look at the photo below:

The case was quite serious, the girl's foot almost "bend"..

Surveys said that, this Crocs is easily to cause static. And, accidents did happen in State and Singapore before.

So, beware when you using the escalator provided you're wearing Crocs. Now, i totally banned Jo wearing Crocs when we're going to shopping mall.

Despite the high comfort levels, I still can't see myself wearing a pair of Crocs in the public.

Crocs is so widely imitated that perhaps it might be a possibility that the one worn in the news article that you blogged about is a pair of fake Crocs hence the low quality? Cheap rubber used for the fake Crocs perhaps?

Probably the news article was a stronger call for people to always keep their feet

Oppss...we just bought one for Ivan yesterday. I personally has worn them for abt a year already and I had 2 pairs. I guess as long as they are fitting, not loose, it shld be okay. Those new designs has sizes now. It's better.

Hmm, I think we can't totally blame the shoes, coz there are signs on escalators that you are supposed to keep to the middle and no put your foot anywhere near the sides or mechanism. This is just another freak accident, it could happen even if the kid is wearing slippers. Just becareful lor, when the kids are using excalators...

I like Crocs too.. but I think it's over priced. So I buy the immitation.. Asadi which is sold in Giant here, for Zara. :P

But wear what shoes also must be careful... could have happened to anybody wearing any shoes.

Pst.. you buy the original? Even in China? (I would assume there'll be lots of immitation there).

hinching & zara's mama - I bought the Crocs from Malaysia, ya, you can't buy from China as all are imitation. This case happened in HK, and the little girl was wearing the genuine one..

Sue - Ya, i agree..

yikes! Luckily Darrius has outgrown his pair and I won't be getting any new pairs for him.

Sometimes I wonder why such big head shoes can get caught up in those tiny space on the escalator.

When we were kids, our parents disallowed us to place our hands on the escalator handles. They scared us by saying that we would get electric shock if we were to touch the handles. LOL! This trick did work on me. I guess they worried that such accident would happen on us.
